Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities are seasonal. Please check information carefully for registration/sign-up deadlines.


The Stopher Basketball program consists of two teams made up of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  The boys team plays in the East Louisville Conference.  The girls team plays at Mid America.  Tryouts are held in the Fall.





Bricks 4 Kidz

Bricks 4 Kidz after-school classes use LEGO® bricks to deliver a high quality of educational play. Kids construct a new model each week based on exciting themes from space to sports, amusement parks to animals.  Kids learn about everything from gears, torque and friction, to geography, space exploration and weather.  Multiple sessions are offered each year. 



The Stopher Cheer Program consists of four teams made up of students from Kindergarten through Fifth grades.  Two of those teams compete at the local and state levels and our Kindergarten and First Grade Team performs exhibitions at local competitions.  The fourth team cheers at the games for the Stopher Basketball Team.





Cross Country


The Stopher Dance Team is an award-winning group of third thru fifth graders who compete at the local, state and national level. 


Tryouts are held in May.

Drama by George

This is an 8 week program that exposes students to the basics of theatre while they rehearse a fully-staged short play!   There are several sessions available throughout the school year.  For more information, please visit the Drama by George website:  https://www.dramabygeorge.com/

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is open to all 3rd - 5th grade students with a signed permission slip.  Meetings are every Friday in the library at 8:30 with drop off at 8:30.  Activities include: guest speakers, prayer, discussion, devotionals, and fellowship.

Kind Kids Club

The Kind Kids Club meets on Wednesday mornings, 8:15-8:45.  Any Stopher student can participate!  The club focuses on doing things for others and being kind to people. 

Problem Solving Team

Public Speaking


Our Robotics Team is made up of students who enjoy problem solving, teamwork, and competition.  The robotics program is designed to offer students a rich and exciting introduction to the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  We participate in two separate divisions, VEX IQ and Lego RCX.  Students compete annually in regional and state tournaments.



Sign ups take place in the Fall.

Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP)

The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) uses project-based learning principals to empower student learning and achievement through the utilization (and creation) of technology to solve school and community needs.  STLP provides a means for students to design, make, connect and learn.  Our students compete every year in the regionals with the opportunity to advance to the state competition.




Track participation is by invitation from the coach.
